It was a night of passion the likes of which Sora could never have imagined. From the moment he had thrown Antoni onto the bed and straddled him, flesh pressed to flesh, to the gentle kisses he trailed down his sweat covered back, he was in ecstasy.
Though he had known lust, he had never given into love; pure, unrestrained and intense. For the night nothing existed outside the walls of his chambers as he and Antoni explored each other’s bodies until they found every one of their pleasure and pain centers and pushed them to the point of breaking.
It was like a dream come true, feeling so completely whole and knowing, with perfect clarity, what and where he was meant to be. No part of him wanted to be king-consort of some far off land; he wanted to be Antoni’s lover, his whore, his whole life. There was no one else who could fill his missing pieces like his mysterious lover and nothing that, that night, could tear him away from his heated embrace.
When he slid himself inside Antoni’s warm, ready body, he knew this was where he belonged; the only place he was intended to leave his seed was Antoni’s trembling form beneath him and that thought, while it should have frightened him for his family’s sake, filled him instead with an ethereal peace and tranquility he did not believe a mortal capable of.
He had found home.

Antoni looked up into Sora’s eyes and saw only love looking back at him. It was done; the young prince was his. Every moment he had given to capture him heart and soul had come to fruition and now he knew he would never be forced back into the sea and soon have the good parts of his essence returned to him. He would be whole again, and happy. Deliriously happy.
As Sora buried himself inside of him, he felt something deep within him he did not realize was missing fill him; his secret, sacred place that not even he had ever touched now awoke and burned through him. Primal passions were ignited and he felt the essence of lust take over.
He wrapped his legs around Sora’s waste, pushed him deeper inside, as far as his flesh could reach. His body opened to Sora, swallowed him, caressed him, reveled in inching him towards that moment of pure bliss. He dug nails into Sora’s back until he felt warm stickiness on his fingers. Sora cried out, threw his head back and arched his back, drove himself deeper and released.
He collapsed on top of Antoni and sighed.
“I love you.”
“I love you.” Antoni’s voice was lifted, full of hope and desire. “I have always loved you, from the moment I first laid eyes on you.”
Sora looked at him, his eyes aglow. “So have I… ever since the night you saved me from drowning. No matter how hard I fought to forget you and the way you set my heart afire, I could not. You were always mine as I was always yours.”
“And Annalisa?” Before, the question would have frightened him, or rather, the answer. But now…
“I do not love her. I do not want to be with her. I want only you.”
“And your marriage?”
“Hm.” Yes, of course. You must marry her. You cannot say no, you cannot-
“Let us runway together.”
Antoni’s breath caught. “Runaway? Really? You mean it?”
“Yes.” Sora kissed him. “Tonight. Let us cast aside the life we have so we may have the life we desire… together.”

By dawn’s first light, the boys were long gone and by nightfall they were hidden in a cabin deep in the Carthigian Forest along the northern border with Tunndrah, a kingdom ruled by the mysterious Vannis House. Sora’s family did not trust the Vannis family so doubted they would think to look so close to their neighbor’s lands.
The cabin was small and sparsely furnished but the family who previously lived there had long ago left for one of the many new industrial centers so no one would come to chase them out. They again spent the night making love with no other thoughts on what laid beside knowing they would face it together.
