It's Christmas time! That means food, family and violently unwrapped gifts! But it also means all those who only watch Christmas movies around the holiday can finally dust off their collection. But what if you don't know what to watch for that festive feeling?
Chill. I got this.
The Santa Clause
Tim Allen's three-time turn as Saint Nick always feels right but around Christmas time is the perfect time to watch TV's home improvement expert fumble his way through the all important gift delivery after accidentally kinda, sorta killin' Santa. Oops for him is fun for us. And don't forget the two sequels; unlike other series, this one doesn't suck after art one is over.
How the Grinch Stole Christmas
I'm not talking about that animated atrocity (yes, I hate it). I mean the Jim Carrey version. Seriously, can Ron Howard make a bad movie? Don't answer that; just enjoy the Whoville antics as the Grinch tries to ruin Who's favorite holiday.
Rise of the Guardians
Santa Clause, the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny, Sandman and Jack Frost must save the world from pure evil and fear - as well as themselves! Beautiful animation and wild action and a heartwarming, chewy center drive this new classic and will entertain everyone. Catch it in 3D if you can.
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Yes, I included it on the Halloween Film list but with Santa in it and Christmas in the title, it's also a great Christmas film to watch - on Christmas Eve, after dark, preferably at midnight. Just 'cause reasons.
The Dark Knight's best adventure is also tailor made for the Holiday season. Don't believe me? What about that kiss under the mistletoe? Can't get much Christmasier than that. So there. Now watch it.
There's snow and a Christmas song. Shut up; I'm counting it!
What are your holiday picks?
